Luz Basmajian has a very positive attitude and a heart of gold! Whenever she is asked to do something out of her ordinary day, she is more than willing to do it with no questions asked and most importantly does it with a smile. She is a very active nurse in her role. Always looking for how to improve our internal processes around patient care. She positively interacts with all providers and her peers on an everyday basis to cover any immediate needs. She is highly thought of by our Chief and providers as being a compassionate, responsible, and caring nurse. She takes her job very seriously and commits to serving every member with a smile. She makes sure that every member that she touches either by phone, email, or in-person gets the compassionate deserving care and attention they deserve.

Luz makes sure to address any care gaps the members may have by either booking them an appointment or sending them a Colo kit to their homes or if in office, she takes the time to walk the member to mammogram, lab, GYN etc. Members share that they love Luz for being very complete, informative, compassionate, and attentive to their needs. She shares her knowledge by training other nurses in our department on how to document or how to address any care gaps. She has been appointed our flu champion and POE champion. She is constantly working with our team of nurses by encouraging them to address all the care gaps including the flu vaccine. She offers herself to assist when other nurses are running behind schedule to complete visits for them. She has positively influenced our nurses by sharing her knowledge and is well-liked by them. The list of things that Luz does not only for our department but for Kaiser Permanente members is huge of which I only listed a few. She is truly an asset to our organization and foremost to our department. Luz is a stellar extraordinary nurse well-deserving of the DAISY Award!
