Kaila Jones was nominated by her peers for her DAISY award, who describe her as nothing short of wonderful! Her attention to detail, commitment to safety, and delivery of compassionate, quality care are exemplary and a true testament to the commitments and values of our hospital. One coworker related how Kaila came in on her day off to visit with a lonely patient, paint her nails, and provide her with some much-needed personal interaction. The patient was overwhelmed that Kaila used her day off to visit with her and says she will never forget that day as the memory brings her joy and peace. Coworkers also described how Kaila would bring in clothes for patients who end up having long-term stays in the hospital. “She can see beyond the patient in the bed managing to unlock who they are and tap into their human heart.” The same care she shows to her patients, she also shows to her coworkers, whether she’s precepting, in charge, or working alongside them. Her calming presence is helpful during stressful times, and she is an inspiration to those around her.
