We had a patient in the ICU who had fallen at home and required hip surgery to repair her fracture who was struggling with being in the hospital and was suffering from some ICU delirium after her procedure. Sandra spent the entire night with this patient and on the phone with the patient's daughter in an attempt to make her more comfortable and allow her to get some sleep after a rough few days. The next morning, Sandra stayed long after our shift ended to help get the patient ready for the day and to cut up her food and feed her. Sandra provides excellent patient care and to this patient in particular during her stay in the ICU.
