Latasha continues to smile and stay professional at all times even when under stress.
I would like to nominate Latasha Henderson for the DAISY Award. This particular nurse demonstrates extraordinary clinical skills along with compassionate care in the ambulatory care setting. As the Today Clinic nurse, she is often met with challenges being that it is a walk-in clinic. She gets to the clinic early to help prioritize the walk-in patients and she does it with a smile. She always goes over and beyond for the patients to give the best care she can.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Latasha took the initiative to use Epic Haiku app with her phone to take pictures of patients' reported symptoms (rash, bruise, bump, etc) to allow the provider to give the best care possible during the virtual visit. One particular patient walked into the today clinic with many chief complaints including severe arm rash. The provider was only doing virtual visits this day, however, the nurse wanted to make sure all of the patients’ needs were met. Latasha took the patient back to an exam room for further assessment before adding the patient to the provider’s virtual visit template. She then proceeded to pull her phone out to take a picture of the patient’s rash. She explained to the patient that she will send the picture to the provider for review. The patient appreciated her effort to allow them to get all their needs met during a telephone visit and recognized this nurse for her professionalism and thoughtfulness. I have received many other compliments as her manager from patients as well as staff of her efficient care.
Latasha can always be trusted to complete tasks in a timely manner and respects all staff and patients with a very professional demeanor. She exemplifies every aspect of CIRCLES. She does an awesome job of collaborating with her provider even in the midst of these stressful and challenging times. She is a true definition of a team player.
