Desiree went above and beyond taking care of this first-time mom. I never would have made it through my labor, or the days following, without her. I hemorrhaged during birth and was given a shot to help stop it. We didn't know at the time that I would be allergic to the medicine in the shot. I started feeling like I was going to pass out and my lips kept tingling. Desiree figured out I was having an allergic reaction and gave me Benadryl just in time. My throat closed up right then. I felt out of it for several hours, but I was able to breathe on my own again and take care of my baby. She helped me try to feed him after birth and stayed with us for several hours before the birth just talking to us and getting us ready. I was more relaxed because she was my nurse.
