Over the past year, Danielle has worked tirelessly to support the centers in the early days of Covid. One region was particularly hit hard in March of 2020 when emotions were at their peak. Danielle stepped into that emotional situation as a stabilizing force for the front line TMs, getting their questions answered, their concerns heard and their fears acknowledged. She provided phone support 24/7 to over 50 centers, coordinated cohort shifts, reinforced policy, and provided guidance to nurses through advanced screening to maintain a safe environment for all TMs and patients. She then shifted her focus to vaccinations where she led the efforts with county health departments to obtain and deliver vaccinations directly to patients in the center. Once we received a federal allocation, Danielle organized the administration of 1000 doses in 48 hours. As a nurse, Danielle understood the gravity of the situation and almost singlehandedly carried the clinical burden of the division, and embraced the responsibility of the moment. She was often heard in the early days saying “we got this” to other nurses that just needed those words of encouragement. Patients are with us today due to the work of Danielle. We are fortunate she decided to become a nurse because she is uniquely skilled and was emotionally prepared for the challenges of this past year.
