Thang was always there to help in those weeks of recovery with my family. She went above and beyond the nurse duty in extending her care and concern with a good heart.
I would like to recognize and honor Thang Ha Shaw for the Daisy Award. I came to know her as a nurse at Southeast Health and she has worked in many areas over her twenty plus years at Southeast. She is a very compassionate, empathetic, caring person who devotes her whole heart into caring for everyone. She is a registered nurse BSN presently in NICU now, however I have known her previously when she worked on other units at Family Birth and seven east. She extended her generosity and help to my family when my mother was ill in the hospital after surgery, and again when my son was in an accident and was in ICU. She extended a helping hand when we needed it the most. She helped comfort, support our family, and even helped with groceries and other needs when we were not able to get in while our family was in hospital in the summer of 2018. I was alone in caring for my family but she offered her assistance and kindness. She offered her shoulder to cry on, listened, and talked when I did not have anyone else to turn to. I was worried and scared about my son and my mom during these times and she was there for us for emotional support as well as a nurse offering help.
I would like to thank her for her support during these times when I truly had nothing at some points and needed a little extra grocery support as well. Thang was always there to help in those weeks of recovery with my family. She went above and beyond the nurse duty in extending her care and concern with a good heart. She continually exceeds her commitment to her profession and advances in knowledge through the years to be able to help her patients and families to the best of her ability. She brings honor to the profession as a nurse. I am grateful for nurses like her who go above and beyond the duty every day and live the promises selflessly of truly helping others by giving of themselves. She has extended herself to others in need also, whether it be to help children or adults or to offer assistance to help her patients with small bills and grocery for certain times when they cannot afford to she is there to see them through difficult uncertain times during medical hospitalization or other when ill or if family is ill. I hope to recognize her for her kindness to let her know how much we all appreciate everything she works so hard to spread comfort and help to others in need.
