Not only did you help ease my fears, you helped my husband and me navigate all of the "fire hoses" of various doctors representing different specialties, multiple tests, unanswered questions, etc.
I want you to know how grateful I am that our paths crossed and just how much you meant to me over the 3 weeks I was a patient at your facility. I was admitted through the ER with a broken clavicle resulting from a fall. As it turned out, in addition to the break, my hemoglobin was 4.3 with bleeding of unknown origin. Over the course of 3 weeks, you were my nurse many times. Not only did you help ease my fears, you helped my husband and me navigate all of the "fire hoses" of various doctors representing different specialties, multiple tests, unanswered questions, etc. You even dropped by to visit me after your shift a couple of times when I wasn't your assigned patient that day!
You were an incredible advocate for me! When I had to undergo a second bone marrow biopsy, you ensured I received appropriate medication. When I received a diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer with metastasis to the bones, you not only comforted us, but helped smooth the path resulting in a transfer to another hospital for cancer treatment.
I am writing to you now to tell you my cancer is stable, I feel good, and I've tolerated treatments extremely well. I am grateful and blessed. I truly don't think I would be where I am today without the care I received from you. I strongly believe that God places people in our paths at times when we need them most. For me, you were that person. I want you to know just how much I appreciate you and the help and guidance you provided through one of the most difficult and frightening times of my life. You are an incredible person and an awesome nurse! In my book, you were a healthcare hero long before we encountered Covid.
