These two nurses were an amazing team on my birthday while I was not feeling well on the critical care side of COVID-19. My nurse John made sure I was freshened up with a shower and even getting my hair done and washed - helping with the “messy bun.” This meant so much to me. John did assist me with care as I was weak and needing oxygen. He wanted me to feel beautiful and it made me feel so much better and lifted my spirits. He went above and beyond making me feel so important and like this was the most important thing. Critical Care nurses have a lot of important matters. The physical care of BASIC need with time, attention, and care could not have impacted me more in the moment.
While I was resting, Jessie came in and asked to clean up my room and she made a special corner for my Spiritual Icons. She neatly paved and put with honor and respect. This act so important to my faith centered me and calmed me. All the clutter went away, everything put in its place. My Faith is Strong. Quietly, Jessie brought peace so I could focus and see what helps me so much. Since Jessie made it neat is has been undisrupted. She also made a birthday card and got all staff to sign it. This brought me joy too!
