My son had to be seen because of red around his wound site. Tisha Moore came in later in the day to see him. She listened to him tell her what was going on and was very patient. Then she very thorough with her exam and explained everything she was doing so we understood. She was also very compassionate with him. Especially with the pain and the stress of having to do wound care at home. She said her goal was to make it as painless as she could and easier to deal with at home. Tisha has a sense of humor which is always appreciated in a time like this.
First, Tisha explained everything in terms where we understood her. She explained everything she was using and how to use these things at home. Tisha made sure we had everything we needed at home and made up a package for my son.
Tisha was so thorough from start to finish. I told her I’ve never seen such amazing care. Our Veterans deserve this. I wish I could get this kind of care for myself. I’ve always been impressed with any and all medical treatment my son has received.
Tisha was the third person to treat my son. Her listening carefully and assessment of him helped her to make this so much easier and less painful for my son at home. She did say my son was doing an excellent job because the wound site looked good. But the treatment he’d been doing at home was not going to work. Packing and repacking weren’t allowing fluids to drain leaving the site sore. So, Tisha cleaned it good and came up with a pain gel and a smile saying, “This will go home with you!” My son’s shoulders dropped and I saw him relax completely. Painlessly she put in a drain tube that would sort of dissolve. She explained expecting a patient to pack and repack at home isn’t always successful. I told her he was having a more difficult time each evening. She explained why. Overall, we left feeling stress-free and confident he would be just fine. This has been going on for over a month so it could have all gone wrong with MRSA and a hole if not taken care of, he could have even lost his leg.
Tisha was just very calm and professional when needed. She gave my son positive feedback on how he was doing. Tisha was very compassionate on my son’s pain level and had concern for the worry and discomfort he was experiencing at home with wound care. So, Tisha made it painless and so much easier for him to do it at home. She was funny when needed to be, but made sure we understood everything we had to do. She was so thorough and made the whole experience very pleasant and we left feeling so much better and with a huge sense of relief and no longer scared and stressed out. We never felt rushed and nothing we asked her was not answered and she made sure we understood everything and to call anytime.
