Kayla made sure we knew everything that was going on when my meds were due and answered any questions we had.
I recently had a baby and wanted to express how amazing your nurses and staff were when I had my stay. Kayla was our nurse all three nights we were there and was part of the delivery team. This was my first pregnancy and first surgery (since the baby was breech). I went into labor a week early and had no idea what to expect. They moved very fast to make sure we had the best outcome. I had so many emotions going on, but between the nurses, the on-call doctor (who wasn't my primary), and the anesthesiologist I knew I was in good hands.

Kayla made sure we knew everything that was going on when my meds were due and answered any questions we had. And I know I asked her stuff more than once since I was so tired, and she had no problem answering them over and over again. My little girl had a very hard time sleeping during the night, so Kayla offered to take her to the nursery for two hours and reassured us that it was okay because we needed sleep. She was very helpful with breastfeeding since my baby would latch, but not suck since she wanted to keep falling asleep. Kayla reassured me that I was doing everything correct which made me feel better.

On the third night, our baby was not eating much and very sleepy. Kayla made a clinical decision to check her glucose and thank goodness she did. Her glucose came back as 45 and for her age, at the time it should have been 60 or above. She called the pediatrician right away to see what they wanted to do and decided to bottle feed her supplement after she tried to breastfeed, to make sure she did get enough in her system. I am thankful for her clinical decision Kayla made. Who knows what would have happened when we got home and not supplemented. As a nurse, it was different being on the other side. Kayla made me feel like I was the only patient she was taking care of when I know she had two others and on-call for C-sections. I am grateful for all you guys do!
