I would like to nominate Bobbi Feitchner for the DAISY award. Bobbi is a very compassionate and dedicated nurse. She is a leader in the ICU and always goes the extra mile. Bobbi's name is frequently brought up by the patients as providing great care to them during their stay and Bobbi's fellow staff frequently state that Bobbi is always there to help them with patient care or questions that they have. To demonstrate the nurse that Bobbi is today, we had a patient whose family made the difficult decision to cease treatments and changed the patient to DNR - comfort care. The family knew that the patient's death would be soon with this decision as some care was stopped. Due to COVID, family members were going to be unable to be by this patient's side during this patient's passing. Bobbi took it upon herself to not leave this patient's side until the patient had passed. Bobbi did not want this patient to pass alone and sat quietly by this patient's side providing support during this time and did not leave their side until they passed. Moments like this go to show what a great nurse she is. She wanted to provide not only this patient comfort during this time and also that the family knew that their loved one did not pass alone. This is why I feel that Bobbi should be nominated for this award.
