Due to Rebecca’s efforts, transition to telemedicine was seamless, providing safe and effective care during the most challenging weeks of the pandemic.
Rebecca Farrell is an absolutely remarkable nursing professional. She is able to unite competence with outstanding communication skills and tremendous executive function. Many examples or the “magic” that Rebecca accomplishes at 8 Huntingdon Pike can be recounted, but Rebecca’s leadership in onboarding the Urologic Oncology team onto telemedicine during the COVID-19 pandemic especially deserve to be highlighted.

The Urologic Oncology Division sees some of the highest volumes of patients in the TUHS. Due to Rebecca’s efforts, transition to telemedicine was seamless, providing safe and effective care during the most challenging weeks of the pandemic. Indeed, FCCC Urologic Oncology providers continue to see top volumes of telemedicine patients in the Health System, because of the processes that Rebecca helped put in place. Rebecca Farrell is a quintessential leader. She is extremely highly regarded by every member of the team. She leads by example and is brilliant at her work. Everyone on the team draws strength from this extraordinary woman who never fails to put forward the extra effort to make sure the team’s needs are addressed. Rebecca Farrell’s humble, good natured, and kind manner combined with unmatched work ethic truly brings out the best in everyone around her. Rebecca is a professional who not only excels in all aspects of her job, but also loves and enjoys what she does. One cannot ask for a better colleague!

• Rebecca is a strong leader throughout the covid pandemic she headed vaccine rollout for patients including scheduling. She worked tirelessly over the holidays and weekends to make sure patients and staff had what they needed.

• She motivates staff to be their best every day.

• Supports nursing encourages creative ideas to improve work environment and patient safety.

• Steps up to cover staffing needs. Not afraid to jump in to support the team wherever needed. No task is to big or too small.

• She has an excellent relationship with the entire care team: Nurses, MA’s, Physicians, support staff.
