I went in for outpatient surgery and Shemeka was the nurse that prepared me for surgery. Her smile, shining through her mask, helped me be at ease from the moment she greeted me. As she prepared me for my procedure, she showed she really cared about me. Her skills were professional, displaying knowledge, confidence, and compassion. With this professionalism, I was able to relax and feel more secure about my pending surgery.

Shemeka took care of the little things too. She adjusted my pillow as well as my head on the bed. She provided warm blankets which were wonderful. These little things added to reducing my anxiety.
Being cared for by such a kind, caring and compassionate nurse made me glad I chose Memorial Hospital. She is an outstanding individual.
When I come back for an upcoming procedure, I hope Shemeka will be my nurse again.
