Stephanie never complained about the long hours she was working, because she knew the most important thing was for our patients to get their treatments.
Honestly, it is hard to just choose one story about this nurse. Stephanie always goes above and beyond for all of our patients. Recently, we had a “severe weather” incident and Stephanie wasn’t scheduled to work, but came to work in the snow and ice to cover the clinic. She packed a bag and planned on getting a room locally because she lives further than any other teammate and it would be dangerous for her to attempt to travel to and from the clinic. She worked tirelessly to make sure each patient was able to arrive for treatment safely. She took charge of contacting the patients and caregivers to make safe arrangements for transportation to and from the clinic. She worked diligently for four days straight ensuring all patients received the treatments scheduled with minimal missed treatments. Stephanie never complained about the long hours she was working, because she knew the most important thing was for our patients to get their treatments. She is an example of a teammate living the DaVita Way with her willingness to go beyond the normal call of duty.
