Debora’s ability to work with patients and surrounding clinics ensured successful transitions.
We are pleased to honor Debora Che for her outstanding work in supporting the entire region and in operating successful covid clinics. In 2020, she was presented with the task of closing the existing Boyle Heights covid clinic. She of course both opened and then closed the covid clinics willingly. This involved moving patients to clinics throughout the region as well as moving them to new shifts in Boyle Heights. While this may seem a relatively easy task, it was far from it. Many patients were unhappy about the moves, but Debora’s ability to work with patients and surrounding clinics ensured successful transitions.
While the clinic was operating as a covid clinic it was successful due to Debora’s constant oversite. She not only was responsible for reviewing all admissions, but she also took it upon herself to communicate with all clinics within the region or outside the regions. In 2020 the original covid clinic was discontinued to only open again later in the year. Debora again headed this task of re-opening the covid clinic in Boyle heights. Again, this was done effectively with relatively few problems. She faced the same problems opening the 2nd covid clinic as she did with the original covid clinic. Debora proves to be so knowledgeable she is able to ensure patients their care would not be compromised.
