David took it upon himself to go out and buy this patient hearing aid batteries so that this patient would be able to connect with his family via a Zoom call.
David is a nurse who always goes the extra mile. He is regularly noted on charge reports for going above and beyond for the team and his patients. When he comes to work he always has a smile and a positive outgoing attitude. David recently (once again) went above and beyond for one of his patients.
David was caring for a patient who had been in the hospital for quite a while, and as he does, he took time to really connect with his patient. While talking he found that the patient, who has been isolated in the hospital while sick with Covid-19 and was hard of hearing, had no batteries for his hearing aid, and therefore was struggling to use the only means available to him to communicate with his family. David took it upon himself to go out and buy this patient hearing aid batteries so that this patient would be able to connect with his family via a Zoom call.
These kinds of selfless acts personify David and who he is as a caregiver. This may seem like a small token to David, but to the patient it means everything. This is only one of many examples of why David is a DAISY Nurse.
