Thelma always puts the patients and their families first and is willing to do whatever it takes.
Thelma received multiple nominations for the DAISY Award from coworkers and patients. Some of the things shared about Thelma in her nominations were:
• Thelma is selfless and always thinking of her patients’ needs, even when off the clock.
• When there was a patient in isolation that was dying from COVID, she came in when not working to sit with the patient so that they wouldn’t be alone. This meant so much to the family during a time they were not able to be with their loved ones.
• She is a good steward of resources and helps with staffing efficiencies and call-offs for on-call nursing staff.
• Thelma is a gem, and the community is fortunate to have a nurse like her.
• Thelma always puts the patients and their families first and is willing to do whatever it takes.
