There were so many times she went above and beyond while doing the little things, and that is what mattered most!
(Patient/mother comment): Shannon was amazing while caring for us and our baby. She was so caring, fun, personable, kind, and always went above and beyond to help care for us. You can definitely tell Nursing is her passion. She cared for us as people instead of just feeling like a patient. She is wonderful at her job, and an amazing person.

(Dad’s comment:) Our daughter was born as a preemie, meaning we needed to stay at the hospital for several days’ time. During our stay, we had many Nurses care for us and the baby, but hard matched the passion for care that Shannon had. Simply put, she was amazing! There were so many times she went above and beyond while doing the little things, and that is what mattered most!

Filling Amanda’s water, getting supplies in a timely manner, or working through YouTube tutorial about using a post-partum belly compression band and helping Amanda learn how to use it properly are just some examples of small things that had a big impact. As the father, Shannon made me feel as though I was just as important in the conversation about our baby as is the mother. She went way above and beyond for me in so many ways it has left me feeling like a super dad. Our daughter is our first baby, doing things like Shannon did such as teaching me how to swaddle her, bathe her and reassuring me on the diaper changes, etc. has left me as a father feeling appreciated and important.
Not only being present for teaching, Shannon also spoke to me as a parent about all things equally about our daughter and Amanda whether it be about Amanda’s C-Section recovery or our daughter’s poopy diaper, Shannon included me in every conversation.

As a father, I cannot express enough gratitude to Shannon for understanding that all of this, the surgery, the birth, the recovery, the baby, etc. is a journey for both Amanda and I equally as a couple. Shannon is an absolutely amazing Nurse!
