Nora is an unwavering champion for her vulnerable patient population. She has great critical thinking skills and is highly respected by her peers.
Nora Smith is incredibly hard-working and has a huge heart. She is 100% always willing to go the extra mile for a patient or her coworkers. She always steps up to the plate and takes charge of a situation when things are going haywire on her unit. I am a float, and I am thrilled to see her whenever I float to her unit and she is there because I know that I will have the support I need with my patients. Even though I have been floating to her unit longer than she has been a Nurse, I still ask her for advice on how to deal with various patient situations. She is devoted to making her unit the optimal healing environment.
Nora is an unwavering champion for her vulnerable patient population. She has great critical thinking skills and is highly respected by her peers. She is dedicated to making the workplace better for her coworkers as well. It seems like she is always running new ideas past me about ways we can better utilize EPIC, make the assignment fairer, or a million other ideas over the years. She is also always willing to volunteer to go to Code Violets as long as she has time.
It is refreshing to see a Nurse so truly dedicated to her calling--helping patients with mental health conditions. She is a true asset to CCAG inpatient psychiatry and through her Code Violet work, an asset to the entire hospital. The DAISY Award was created by Patrick's family because of the compassion they saw in Nurses. Nora is one of the most compassionate and kind people I know. She truly deserves a DAISY Award!
