Whenever I work with Dawn on a project, she always brings in the student perspective.
Dawn Mosher exemplifies the social justice principle of solidarity. She cares about the good of everyone and supports them all in their learning and teaching endeavors. She truly cares about the good of the students. Her important work with our simulations also supports this principle by including a wide variety of scenarios, patients, families, etc.
Dawn exemplifies each of the following attributes:
1. Collaborates: Dawn collaborates across degree programs and works well with everyone. She is a great team player who always volunteers to help. She also welcomes collaboration from others; I love learning from her and being able to take part in simulations. She is never too busy for you, even though I know she is always balancing so much.
2. Great teaching skills, enthusiastic about teaching: Dawn is extremely passionate about teaching and ensuring our students are able to learn and demonstrate what they need to be a successful nurse. Her enthusiasm goes beyond just teaching the material to also being passionate about assessing student learning to ensure the best outcomes for our students and college. She is constantly thinking of ways we can improve and engages in scholarship to share best practices with others.
3. Demonstrates leadership: Dawn demonstrates leadership by always stepping up and taking accountability for making improvements. She is extremely accountable, and I always know that if Dawn is involved in a project, it will go smoothly. She manages up and is a great role model for professionalism and leadership at the college.
4. Respects learners: Whenever I work with Dawn on a project, she always brings in the student perspective. She listens to their feedback and concerns and works to ensure that their input is included in decision making.
