Yes, Linda exemplified compassionate care, but she also exemplified outstanding nursing procedure, never ending professionalism, and hard work.
Earlier this week we arrived home from Children’s Hospital where we stayed for 12 days on the med/surg floor unit. We are so thankful that we had Linda as our nurse. She stood by our side for close to 70 hours over the first five days of our son N’s hospital stay. She advocated for N’s needs and responded to many, many questions and concerns of ours. She knew when to listen and when to act and we will never think back on this experience without remembering Linda and the vital role she played in N’s healing.

Yes, Linda exemplified compassionate care, but she also exemplified outstanding nursing procedure, never ending professionalism, and hard work. She multi-tasked throughout the day juggling clinical and psychological needs of our son. She cared for all of us through a highly stressful and clinically complex situation. It became apparent through her words and her actions that she understood how much we loved our son. She explained to us that the role we play as parents is the most important because our son is the most important person to us. We are also grateful for other nurses, as well as doctors, med students, CSA’s, physical therapists, and many more, but it was because of Linda's exceptional work as an RN that we left Children's hospital feeling like we had an extraordinary experience. Linda will forever be a part of our memories of our experience.
