Lisa is exactly who I would want to care for any of my family members in their time of need. I know they would feel safe, secure, and well cared for.
I was admitted to labor and delivery for monitoring of my twin daughters. Lisa was my nurse on the second night of my stay. She assured me that my girls were doing well and there was nothing to be worried about. Lisa went out of her way to ask if I had been able to shower since I had been admitted. She made sure I had an hour to be off the fetal monitors to take a shower and feel human again. My toddler came to visit that same evening. I had to receive my second steroid shot while my daughter was visiting. Lisa spoke calmly while in the room as my daughter is very anxious around "doctors". Lisa made sure my daughter was adequately distracted while she gave me the steroid shot. She is well in tune with the needs of her patients and their families.

I had to have an emergency c-section the following morning. My husband was unable to make it to the hospital in time for the birth of our daughters. Lisa held my hand through the entire procedure and talked me through everything that was happening. She was a calming force in the OR with me. I didn't feel anxious or worked up because she made me feel safe. She is the reason that I was okay during delivery without my husband. She swiftly took over the role of my support person as we realized my husband would not make it in time. After assuring me that both babies were healthy, she left the OR to find my husband in the NICU. She wanted him to know that I was okay. He could feel secure in being in the NICU with our girls while I was being cared for. The 5 minutes it took for her to talk with my husband made the world of difference on this hectic day.

Finally, Lisa was our NICU nurse one afternoon. She took the time to sit with me and talk through how the twins were doing. She reassured me that it was okay to take time away from the hospital as we needed. She encouraged my husband and I to go to lunch together and not worry about the girls' care time for that one afternoon. My husband and I both left the hospital feeling a little lighter in the shoulders.

Lisa is one of the most caring humans that I have ever interacted with. I am so incredibly thankful for her kindness and comfort during my time in labor and delivery. She has a motherly feel as she interacts with patients and their families. I cannot speak more highly of all my interactions with Lisa. Lisa is exactly who I would want to care for any of my family members in their time of need. I know they would feel safe, secure, and well cared for.
