This morning Macy helped me braid my hair so it wouldn’t get tangled during my extensive healing.
Macy is an amazing nurse. I met Macy last night when I was preparing for surgery. She was exactly who I needed. I was having an allergic reaction with some tape on my IV site and Macy jumped in with a different bandage and checked my chart to give me Benadryl. Later that night I was so anxious and overwhelmed with anxiety about my major surgery and she sat and talked with me, got me lavender oil for my room, a sleep mask, and helped me calm down.
This morning Macy helped me braid my hair so it wouldn’t get tangled during my extensive healing. She made it a point to treat me with all the care of a beautiful friend instead of just a patient. Because of Macy, I was able to sleep well before surgery and have a sense of calm this morning. She is a lovely, compassionate person, and her calm and added effort completely turned my night around.
Macy if you’re reading this, this is your calling. Thanks for being an amazing friend to a stranger. I really loved being your patient and you made such a difference in a very scary time in my life.

Macy was our night nurse on the second night of recovery. She was really genuine and gave great advice, but most of all, helped us understand our baby’s needs. Macy also helped us get the baby to sleep during a long night of non-stop cluster feeding.
