Her pleasant demeanor, caring touch, and excellent patient evaluation skills gave me the confidence to know my mother was being left in good hands.
My mother has many issues and is not the easiest person to get along with. She is very particular and likes things done a specific way. She can be angry and grumpy at times- most times. The week of Thanksgiving, my mother was taken to the hospital and placed on the 4th floor in a special care unit. We were concerned for her health and concerned about corona. We didn’t know how she would fare being left alone in the hospital, but my concerns were quickly diminished when we met the nurse that night. Dene was a pleasant and compassionate nurse. Although my mother was being difficult, Dene was able to keep her calm and content. Her pleasant demeanor, caring touch, and excellent patient evaluation skills gave me the confidence to know my mother was being left in good hands. Dene was engaging and informative. She explained things slowly and clearly so that my mother would better understand. She took the time, despite several other patients, to review each and every one of my mom’s medications with her, answer all of her questions, and never seemed rushed. Dene explained each step of her patient exam, and made my mother feel at ease with the care she would be receiving. Dene’s professional skill and compassionate persona turned a difficult time into a wonderful experience. Dene should be recognized for her caring nature and ability to make things a bit easier on the family, knowing our mother was in good hands. Dene is an excellent nurse and a wonderful addition to the nursing community.
