My mom had a stroke and she was extremely independent prior to that. We had a very hard time seeing her dependent and had a lot of anxiety and fear regarding her new symptoms and her recovery. I would go home worrying about what would happen but when Vera came onto her night shift she went out of her way to help ease my anxiety. She answered all my questions and listened patiently to all my concerns. She made me comfortable enough to go home for the night. My mom was also very happy that she was there that night! Vera told me I could call her any time of the night for updates and that I could ask her any questions that came up. She followed up in the morning with me before she left. I could tell that she genuinely cared for my mom as she would her own and that she has a true nurse's heart! I cannot thank her enough for giving me that peace of mind!
