There was an overdose patient and Kim found the teenage son standing outside in the cold of winter crying. Kim & J brought the son into the emergency department and sat with him. Kim stayed 2 hours after her shift had ended to try and comfort this boy. She stayed to try to make this boy smile which eventually she was able to do. With Kim staying after her shift showed this child kindness on a horrible day. The patient was not even Kim’s patient, which means she didn’t have to get involved, but knew it was the right thing to do.
