Jill has been the only one who can break through the tough exterior and talk to the patient.
Jill has been an outstanding nurse for this hospital since 1987! She serves as the care manager for our prestigious Center for Advanced Pediatric Limb Reconstruction and Lengthening. Jill actually received two nominations for the DAISY Award:
Jill has been an integral part of care for many patients and exceptionally supportive for a patient undergoing limb deformity treatment for the past several months. She has been a constant support to this patient who is from another country and living with a host family in St. Louis. Jill has a calming presence, and, at the most challenging moments of this patient's stay, Jill has been the only one who can break through the tough exterior and talk to the patient. She jokes and interacts with the patient as a friend in addition to being an outstanding care provider. When a patient is in a foreign place undergoing surgeries and extensive rehabilitation, having a member of the team like Jill Hahn is crucial to patient success.

Jill continually demonstrates confidence to the children that everything is going to work out okay using success stories and pictures of former patients standing straight and tall to reassure them. She involves the entire family in all her interactions with the children. Some of these children are seen for more than a year. She continues to maintain a caring and calm demeanor through these long times and almost becomes a part of the family.
