She made sure I was well taken care of, doing what had to be done to get me out as quickly as possible.
Dawn Dawson was my nurse during the peak of the pandemic and again this past April. I was so scared last year, and she was so brave. Her compassion and competence were overwhelming. With the masks, all we can see are the eyes and they told the whole story. She made sure I was well taken care of, doing what had to be done to get me out as quickly as possible. I felt so indebted to her that I tried to give her a tip, which she refused as I knew she would, but I had to try. Nurses don't get paid enough for what they do. She was an angel of mercy for me. She always had the answer and never left me hanging. I had more confidence in her knowledge than I did in my doctor. Last year, when I saw fear in the eyes of most staff, I saw love in her eyes. She is a credit to her profession in the true tradition of nursing. I could tell that the nurses and staff looked up to her, coming to her for help and when I praised her to the doctors and other staff, they all agreed that she was an excellent nurse. If I am ever back at the hospital, I can only hope I have Dawn as my nurse again.
