I have the utmost respect and gratitude for Gill she has been an invaluable support for me.
I had a bilateral mastectomy, since then I have had twice-weekly dressings and significant wound issues. As I am from another country, I don’t have family and any support other than my partner. Gill has worked with another team member and ensured that one of them always sees me for continuity of care which given the complexity of my wounds is massively reassuring for me.
Throughout the past 11 months, Gill has been empathic and one of the very few people I never have to say, “Yes I am all good; things are fine, nothing is bothering me.” The sense of isolation being so far from family and supports and also Covid has been immense and without Gill's solid reassuring presence, the gift of her and her team working together to really make me feel like I have a team behind me is huge. I have the utmost respect and gratitude for Gill she has been an invaluable support for me and continues to be; she never makes me feel like I am being difficult when I question what we are doing, makes me feel like I am more than just wounds and sees the person behind the façade of, “I am ok."
