Courtney exuded happiness and we all joked together, which brought a sense of light-heartedness to this unforeseen circumstance.
My husband was admitted to the adult floor of Henderson Hospital following a severe and unexpected complication of a procedure that we flew out of state for. He was very sick and required emergent surgery to correct the issue. Needless to say, that first day was a whirlwind of emotions and the waiting during his operation was the worst part. We met our nurse that morning.
Our nurse was immediately on top of things from the start! Our nurse exemplifies the ideal qualities one would want in a nurse. Courtney Miller is very personable and dedicated to providing quality care to not only the patients but also their family members. At one point, while waiting to hear an update, she came to check on me and asked if I was okay. My eyes began to well up with tears and she hugged and held me while I sobbed telling her how scared I was. She was diligent about getting an intra-operative update for me of how my husband was doing and continued to keep me informed on each subsequent update that they would receive.
We were blessed to have Courtney as his nurse the following day again receiving exceptional care. She was attentive with monitoring and providing pain relief, which greatly benefited my husband’s recovery. She exuded happiness and we all joked together, which brought a sense of light-heartedness to this unforeseen circumstance. She is the type of nurse who gives so much of herself to help others.
To our nurse- “We are truly grateful for everything you did to make our experience at Henderson Hospital as positive and comfortable as possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and keep up the excellent work."
