Sarah continually provided reassurance that she would take excellent care of my dad.
We met Sarah when my 84-year-old dad was admitted to her unit from the ED. My dad was extremely ill and was somewhat confused and disoriented due to his condition. Sarah continually provided reassurance that she would take excellent care of my dad. My dad requires extensive wound care for his right leg. Since I have been doing this at home, she allowed me to assist with the wound care and immediately retrieved all the supplies needed so that it could easily/quickly be accomplished. She also addressed his pain level. He requires pain meds every four hours and had his last dose at noon. Dad was admitted to her unit at 9:30 pm. He had missed two doses at 4 pm & 8 pm while in the ED. She immediately addressed this issue to bring my dad comfort. Sarah took care of dad 3 nights in a row. She encouraged me to call before bed to check in with her so that I could rest peacefully and not worry. My dad was comforted knowing she was caring for him during the night. She made sure he was bathed and comfortable. She is a wonderful compassionate nurse.
