Her calming presence, her professionalism, and her sincere desire to care for the patient were evident.
I was introduced to Aspirus Wausau when I was there with a loved one for evaluation. It was at that time I met a nurse, Naomi Klockziem, who went above and beyond in a time of need for both the patient and I. Caring, Commitment, Conscience, Competence, and Confidence: the 5 Cs of nursing. All were evident right from the moment Naomi, introduced herself. Having witnessed secondhand what it is like to be a nursing student, who has seen firsthand the level of care and need those patients have during COVID times and before. Feelings that the physicians and nurses should spend their time caring for others in need in relation to the needs of this specific patient were expressed by the patient. Naomi took the time to care for the patient, as well as myself. She empathically shared, that someone dear to her, was also a nursing student and understands the amount of time and energy students put forth. Her calming presence, her professionalism, and her sincere desire to care for the patient were evident. She took the time to discuss how nurses care for all patients, regardless of needs and they choose the field because they truly care about people. She provided service with respect, compassion, and integrity. She generated enthusiasm by discussing nursing as a career choice while using energy and carrying out her duties and responsibilities. She significantly made a difference by listening not only with her ears but with her heart and her eyes. People come into our lives for a reason, and we are fortunate to have met you. We all grow from our experiences, just like a daisy does. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for nurturing us, just like a daisy!
