Service with a Sense of Urgency. Eric is a skillful, compassionate, nurse who demonstrated all these abilities when during an IV immune infusion Clinical Trail, I began to have an allergic response. I tried to power through it, and suffer in silence when Eric sprung to action, saying that he noticed I was getting a red rash on my face, moving down to my neck. He checked my blood pressure, it was 180/112. Even before putting a call into my COH doctor, he ordered that the IV be stopped, another Infusion of Benadryl already on my chart and permitted to be administered, and that my blood pressure be taken every 15 minutes. He paged and called my doctor, described in great detail to both the doctor and my husband, (who was waiting in the car) what was going on. He stayed with me, showing respect, integrity, commitment, excellence, and compassion. Eric made quick, lifesaving decisions with confidence and calmness. The other infusion nurses assisted Eric, and they were all excellent as well. His professionalism, excellent medical abilities, and nursing skills saved my life. Had he waited to get a hold of either my doctor or a nurse practitioner, I'm not sure I would have survived. I was getting tightness in my throat, and painful chest constrictions. Thank you, Eric. You continually show integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect, and excellence.
