Devin put his patients and my mother ahead of even his own well-being.
Devin was the nurse assigned to my mother’s care. My mother had the TAVR procedure earlier that day. After a long day, we were greeted by your nurse Devin in my mom’s room. From the first moment my mother arrived, Devin was an awesome example of a nurse. Devin was kind, gentle, compassionate, understanding, and thoughtful of the care he gives. Even though my mother’s back pain wasn’t what she was here for, Devin was patient and helped to get her pain under control. Devin gave great care and met the needs of me and my mother. Devin was efficient in her care, getting my mom’s history, and doing her assessment.
After two nights of excellent care, Devin went beyond his duty and call. The floor was short of nurses and he agreed to stay over and make sure my mother received her meds and morning care. I feel with COVID-19 a lot of nurses are burned out, and don’t care. Devin showed this isn’t true. Devin never complained and really didn’t want us to know the floor was short. Devin put his patients and my mother ahead of even his own well-being. God blessed us with a nurse who has a lot of love for his job. I thought about what the word nurse means: N-nurturing U-unselfish, R- reassuring, S-super, E- extraordinary! Devin provided that NURSE and I appreciate the excellent care that he provided to my mother! Devin has a compassionate heart for his patients and families. You should be honored to have Devin represent your facility.
