After being admitted with COVID I was in horrible physical and mental shape. I became frustrated the first couple of days because I was feeling rushed and neglected and although I feel bad for the lady who was placed to share a room with me, I felt like I was being neglected and couldn’t sleep because of them screaming and cursing at me. I know it was her mental status so I don’t judge or criticize but I was also in pain and struggling. I felt like that for 3 days.

On Thursday, at 7 pm Gabby Reyes came in and introduced herself politely and so very sweetly and made me feel so comforted I cried with her and she was amazing! I even asked her if she was an angel or mirage because she was the first person to make me feel like a human being. I am not a difficult patient at all and as a matter of fact, I even try to help out with my own care so as to not “bother” anyone but she made me feel so important without obviously doing the rest of her job. I don't expect special treatment and I have high respect for nurses, I can only imagine the long hours and what they go through but Gabby Reyes was overall, the best! Her bedside manner and patience, and empathy were unparalleled! She even said “I love what I do” and “you are not bothering me at all. I’m here for you!” She brought all my meds on time, she helped me through anything I needed, and was just amazing.

You have an amazing asset and gem of a nurse on this floor named Gabby Reyes. I want to extend my deep gratitude for her excellent care towards me. I can't say enough. I even get all emotional remembering how wonderful she was to me after having some difficult days feeling awful. So thank you Gabby from the bottom of my heart! I could keep going but I just can't find any more words to describe how incredible this young lady is. May God bless her.
