Katie was quite a breath of fresh air. Outstanding personality, efficient, timely, and very obviously, enjoys her work.
I was a patient at St. Joseph's and I was treated for symptoms of pneumonia. By way of review, I had a malignant tumor removed from my pancreas at Stanford Hospital 3 weeks prior. This resulted in a 10-day hospital stay. I was out of energy, focus, and direction. Then, I had some uncomfortable pain in my mid-chest area. I came through the Emergency entrance. Let me say that your staff as a group are saints. I don't know how they put up with all of the rude clients, because, believe me, that day, there were quite a few of them. Anyway, I was admitted, and placed in a room. I had nurse Katie on 2 occasions during my stay. A regular shift and then she was my discharge nurse. She was quite a breath of fresh air. Outstanding personality, efficient, timely, and very obviously, enjoys her work. After 2 hospital appearances whatever happens physically is going to happen. The big difference is getting through the emotional/mental part of the hospital stay. Katie made a big difference in addressing as much of my mental health as did the medical staff address my physical needs. Also, she was very thorough in the discharge instructions. As my wife stated, "I guess she just rescued us from reading all of the discharge paperwork!" She was that complete. Bottom line, hats off to Katie-she made a positive impression during my stay.
