I can’t think of a better person to get this award. She is so “warm” and welcoming to each and every patient she takes care of. I have seen numerous occasions where she can take a patient who is full of anxiety and fear and she can bring them right down. She puts 100% into everything she does here at the surgery center. When she is in the pre-admit office, she takes her time and often speaks with every single patient. She can do so much in a short amount of time. When Kathy is calling patients and answering their questions she can usually get about 99% to go online and complete their health histories. This is such a giant help for the patients and the staff because she is so thorough with her conversations. This year she took it upon herself to paint a GIANT mural and planned a team-building exercise to go with it. She cut out hearts (one for every staff member) to fill out a few nice things to say for each and every staff member. It was beautiful to read everyone’s positives thoughts and feelings about one another. In a world full of the unknown and “uneasy” times it was so refreshing to see everyone’s hearts on the wall to read and take in. She is a light in this world and a light to her patients. I have never heard a patient say anything bad or negative about Kathy.  I enjoy working with her and this surgery center is extremely lucky to have a nurse like her working here and taking care of patients. I would trust her to take care of me or my children any day!!
