Jeanette is a professional who knows how important a team is to ensure high-quality care for me when she is not there.
Jeanette truly understands that patient care is the number one priority.  When I was diagnosed for the second time with cancer, my anxiety was through the roof.  I quickly was put in the confidence of Jeanette Dellose upon my first round of 24-hour 6-day chemotherapy (which will continue for 6 months) who educated me as to her expertise in being chemo certified. As time has gone on, I’m currently in the hospital for my second round, and Jeanette is teaching other nurses alongside me the importance of tag-teaming to confirm, verify and identify me as the patient, with the chemo drug combination and the calculations to be accurate in the dosages.  As I observe Jeanette from my bedside, her training the other nurses is impeccable! She takes her time, repeats often for accuracy, waits for feedback commitment, and confirms orders. Jeanette is a professional who knows how important a team is to ensure high-quality care for me when she is not there.

Due to my treatments requiring hospital overnights, admission can be tough due to hospitals being overbooked with emergencies.  Jeanette took the extra step to discuss with me the coordination between my oncology team, hospital admission floor nurse manager, and herself, the schedule of my treatments. She reassured me a bed would available when my treatments needed to be done to ensure that the timing protocol of my treatments allowed the best outcome of survival and destroying the cancer cells.

My first chemotherapy treatment resulted in a painful ER visit into a re-admit back to the hospital. When Jeanette heard I was still in the hospital, she came to check on me on her own time. I was shocked! She was sincere in saying "I care about you".  Jeanette displayed at this time, I could get through this again with her and her team of nurses that so admire and respect her years of nursing experience, compassion, and sincerity in care.

Jeanette made it a point, whether she was assigned to my room or not, to visit me, see if I needed anything, and to say goodbye for the day and inform other staff members of updates.  Jeanette has proven in her actions she goes above, and beyond with her personable, detailed, and team effort strategies to ensure my safety and health during my time at Lankenau Hospital.  I just hope she is the RN on each and every shift when my hospital stay is required (I realize this is unrealistic, however, comforting)  Honoring her would let her know that “thank you” is more than words, it is making my life a whole lot better and brighter right now than it would be without her.
