All of your nurses have been kind and professional but I felt Natalie exceeded all expectations. Besides her being kind and keeping us informed when my dad was going for his cath procedure, as the day passed she continued to check on my daddy. Then the procedure was canceled close to 7 pm. Both of my parents were upset and crying. It was like the fourth or fifth time to be canceled. I calmed my parents and left. When I walked out of the unit I let myself cry. As I was walking to my car I saw Natalie. After her 12 hour shift, she talked to me and hugged me. I can’t begin to tell you how much I needed that hug. As far as I am concerned, she was sent by God to give me that hug. I believe her compassion exemplifies the kind of nurse the DAISY Award is meant to recognize.
