Danni Christ effectively demonstrates the true meaning of an interdisciplinary team player. She is a highly-skilled, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate team player who consistently displays and promotes the highest ethical standards. Recently, at Brandywine Valley Surgery Center, Danni identified a single mother who was bringing three of her children in for various urological procedures on the same day. The Mother was cognitively limited and did not have support at home. Danni reached out to the Nurse Practitioner in Urology. After a lengthy discussion, it was determined this family would benefit from home health services which were ordered at that time. On the day of surgery for these three children, Danni communicated to the team the needs of this family and orchestrated the necessary staff coverage to provide continuity of care for that day.
Lastly, one of the patients violated the NPO guidelines. Danni initiated a conversation that this family would benefit from still having the procedures the same day and with everyone's agreement and coordination, all three children were able to have surgery the same day but at a much later time. Danni's calm demeanor was perfect for this family, her patience, kindness, professionalism, and teaching ability demonstrated CHOP's ICARE values. Danni truly provided outstanding nursing care for this family.
