D’Aishia is always going above and beyond to help her team members and patients. She excels in all that she does, and I am so proud to call her my teammate.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about D’Aishia. I've always seen her be extremely caring and clinically competent in all patient and family interactions time and time again. We have had multiple situations where we have had spouses admitted throughout the hospital, especially between E7 and C5, where we have had to be creative for families to be together to honor their last moments together.

We had a patient on C5 whose wife was had been a patient on E7. She had not been doing well, and we had been anticipating throughout the week how to help his daughter share this news with him, as well as how to coordinate getting him to see her one last time. This was all complicated by both patients being COVID positive. Our patient’s wife was placed on comfort measures, so the priority became getting him to see her as quickly and safely as possible. In collaborating with D’Aishia and her team, they came and got our patient and took him to visit his wife, all while dealing with high acuity patients on their end too. He was able to spend two hours with her and his family before his wife passed away that afternoon. Being able to create those memories for that family is truly what being a nurse at LRH is about and the essence of a DAISY recipient. We become family for these patients when they cannot have visitors and the teamwork between our two units absolutely floors me.

It isn’t about being technically good at skills and nursing knowledge- you can teach that. It is such a comfort to know that our nurses care so deeply about creating these moments for our patients and their families when it matters most. D’Aishia is always going above and beyond to help her team members and patients. She excels in all that she does, and I am so proud to call her my teammate. She is always willing to help me in any situation, whether it be big or small. She consistently has a smile on and always comes to work ready to seize the day! She is an exemplary employee in any patient care. I am thankful to be a coworker of hers and take pride in calling her a teammate. She makes work pleasant, and I know I can always count on her. I have learned so much from her and hope to be half the nurse she is one day. She sets the bar high.
