By the time we left, she wasn't just "Nurse Shellie", she was "Aunt Shellie".
Shellie is awesome in so many ways. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for her kind, caring nature during our stay. From the moment we met, she took us in and made us feel safe and welcome. I knew right then we were in good hands. She treated our little sugar baby as if she were her own and it warmed my heart to see that.
On top of that, since COVID had restricted visitors, her welcoming and caring attitude made me feel like one of my sisters was there with me. She made a point to connect with us both, to understand our needs and concerns. She went out of her way to explain things that were happening, things that would happen, and went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met every second we were there. She watched over our daughter so I could rest even though I was reluctant to leave her. I felt at ease knowing she would care for my daughter the same as me and I wasn't wrong about that.
Our daughter wasn't getting enough to eat and Shellie's persistence in figuring out what was going on and how to make sure she had just the right nipple to supplement made all the difference. Even though I am not a first-time mom, things were still awkward and took time to figure out. Shellie was able to anticipate things that would help me better cope for my daughter. She was attentive, helpful, shared tips, and helped me feel less awkward to care for my sweet girl. I also appreciated so much how she interacted with my daughter. Shellie was just different and would love on and engage with my daughter as if she were her own. It meant so much because it was like having my sister there and that means the world to me. Saying "thank you" just seems so inadequate to express my gratitude for all she did for us during our stay. This by far was the best experience I have had with all 4 of my babies. Shellie is one of a kind and I feel so lucky to have been in her care. By the time we left, she wasn't just "Nurse Shellie", she was "Aunt Shellie".
