This is the first time I met Nancy, and she just stood out. Her fellow coworkers talked kindly of her and how she is always helping them.
She went over and above on her duties while on her second 16-hour shift. She was making sure everything was done - stocking and such for the next shift overdoing her own work like charting. She explained everything to me without having to ask and wasn't crabby at the end of shift. She was on top of things, going over and above what I see them do. She put together feedings for a full 24-hour period to help the next nurses. She helped me to get rest and even put in a maintenance order for a broken paper towel dispenser in the bathroom that I mentioned for four days - she was the only one who stepped up and did it. When I asked another nurse for her last name, she said "she's worked here for 40 years and never got this award and deserves it more than anyone else." She also helped me locate a fellow mom in the NICU that I was trying to find for two days. I had some items to give her, and she located her right after I asked. This is the first time I met her, and she just stood out. Her fellow coworkers talked kindly of her and how she is always helping them. She explained a lot to me. Her dedication to quality care for our families for 40 years is a true testament to her work as a caregiver and an individual!
