Kory never gave up on this patient and made sure that she found a safe place to go once she was discharged.
I worked with Kory during a difficult shift where he went above and beyond in his practice. There was a patient who needed a new place to stay after being kicked out of her previous living situation. Kory gave her a list of shelters to call to see if any of them had openings. When this did not work, the patient mentioned that they could try to communicate with other family members through Facebook, but she did not have their phone numbers. Kory sat with this patient to help her log into her Facebook account. When the patient could not remember her password, Kory stayed with the patient to help her recover her password through email. When this did not work, instead of giving up, Kory helped the patient make a new Facebook account. This allowed the patient to connect with family members and find a new place to stay. Kory never gave up on this patient and made sure that she found a safe place to go once she was discharged. Kory's kindness and compassion could be seen through the patient's gratefulness he was truly trying to help her.
