But Dahlia was so excited that they were found they couldn’t wait anymore, so she ended up walking the 4 blocks to get them for me and my phone too!
We had a patient on the unit from Boulevard Temple Care Center. This patient had very poor vision and did not have her eyeglasses. She also did not have her phone so she could not be in contact with her family. This made the patient depressed, anxious, and upset while she was dealing with the situation of being in an ICU critically ill.
Dahlia observed the situation, contacted Boulevard Temple, and arranged for the patient’s eyeglasses and cell phone to be picked up. Dahlia walked to Boulevard Temple and picked up her belongings and brought them to the patient. Once the patient received her glasses she could see and with her phone, she could maintain contact with her family. The patient’s mood improved dramatically. Thank you to Dahlia for going above and beyond for your patient and displaying your caring attitude for all our staff.

My nurse knew I was rather unhappy to say the least (after 1 week) with a blurry TV, blurry people, and coloring with no glasses. Such a simple everyday thing but it was really getting to me. I told this to Dahlia when she asked me what movie I was watching. I told her I didn’t even know and then I told her my story. Dahlia went above and beyond asking a friend after a shift if they might be able to go collect them for me (after they had been located by my nurse finally)! But Dahlia was so excited that they were found they couldn’t wait anymore, so she ended up walking the 4 blocks to get them for me and my phone too! Such a great nurse and I could finally see her too!
