Carly was our daughter’s primary nurse for several days. Having our 13-year-old in the hospital for over a week with so many unknowns brought so much fear for all of us. This nurse brought an undeniable energy to our daughter no matter what mood she encountered. Carly was patient and hopeful. As the days dragged on and our daughter became more discouraged about her stay, Carly went above the call of duty and approached the medical team with creative ways to bring moments of hope and normalcy to our girl. Even when there was hesitancy from members of the team, she advocated for what was in the best interest of our daughter’s overall health. She really “got it”; that the emotional part could not be ignored. Thank you Carly for bringing a smile and joy to our daughter during a very stressful time. You are an amazing and gifted nurse as you exemplify treating the whole child. Your kindness, spirit, and advocacy will not be forgotten!

My first week as a new member of the medical team I was “overwhelmed” and Carly Kimball took the time to offer the smallest bit of praise and encouragement. It meant the world to me, and since then I have watched her provide similar mentorship and care to nursing students, to residents, and to other members of the medical staff. Carly cares deeply about her patients and always advocates for them in thoughtful ways. Carly can connect with anyone and has a positive, bubbly attitude at all times. This nurse makes it a joy to come to work and I’m so grateful!
