A year ago my little girl's life was saved at St. Michael's Hospital. Under our doctor's leadership and care, I believe God used all of you in His special way. My wife had a placental abruption. Those 15 minutes will live in my mind forever. I'm not sure if any of you will remember it, but we will always remember each of you. When our older three children were born, we were often asked why we were having our baby at St. Michaels and not locally. My answer each time was "If something happens, we want to be where there is plenty of help." As things progressed that Friday afternoon, that "something" I was wary of did happen. We were where God intended us to be, surrounded by the people in the Labor and Delivery. After she was born, I remember standing in the nursery looking at my daughter and hearing the doctor tell the nurses "If what we did was art, that would have been a masterpiece". There is no art on earth that is equal to the worth of each of God's creations you all usher in every day. Mrs. Cheryl Scales spent an extraordinary amount of time with us, staying well over her shift to see it through. At the end of the day, I received pictures she had taken for us of that day, along with a message that read "the LORD's hands were all over this delivery". She was incredibly thoughtful and even wrote down the names of some of the nurses and staff who were there that day. I've enclosed it, along with a picture of Mrs. Scales and our "Little Bit". She is the apple of our family's eye. It took me a year to write this because I couldn't come up with words that showed the deep appreciation we have.
