Lisa spared no resource in getting this patient everything she needed to be safe and comfortable at home.
Lisa is a great nurse, a team player and a tremendous asset to this team. Her nursing knowledge and her personality are so evident in the care and kindness she shows all of her patients and families. No patient is ever too “difficult” for Lisa to handle. Lisa will also go way out of her area for a patient that needs that certain touch and personality. Lisa has taken on a good amount of both difficult and sick patients. One, in particular, was a younger woman with a Foley, Wound Vac, and an IV. The patient also had a very debilitating DEMYELINATING disease process. Needless to say, this patient was bedbound, totally dependent. Even though she had a very supportive husband, he had to work full time. Lisa spared no resource in getting this patient everything she needed to be safe and comfortable at home. This included therapy, MSW, HHA 5 days a week. Lisa herself would meet the HHA at the patient’s home to do the HOYA LIFT transfer with her. Lisa would also juggle her time off to accommodate this patient. I’ve seen Lisa teach patients about every aspect of their care in a way where the patient would understand what was being taught to them. Lisa has taken on precepting new nurses when needed also as her skills are excellent with some of our Higher Tech patients. Lisa is always a pleasure to talk to about her patients, as well as in Team Meetings with suggestions on how to make things flow better for all of the nurses. She is a nurse who goes above and beyond for her team, and for her patients.
