At 6 am the following morning, Amy returned to check on us. She came just to see how my dad was doing and how the night went.
My dad came in the emergency room with a very high blood sugar/confused and disoriented-subsequently pulling out his IVs. Amy came to place a new one and it wasn’t easy because he was dehydrated and we had to hold him down. Once he was transferred to his admitted room, his IV came out and Amy had to come back and do another one. She tried multiple times-even called for extra assistance. After multiple attempts, we still only had one IV. We decided to stop and the IV team left. At 6 am the following morning, Amy returned to check on us. She came just to see how my dad was doing and how the night went. She decided to try for the IV again before going home even though we hadn’t called for her. She did get him a second IV line and we were very grateful. Amy is an amazing nurse and we were lucky to have her as our IV therapy nurse.
